The US Immigration Authority announced that all immigration application processes for Afghan citizens have been immediately suspended for an indefinite period, pending additional security review. This comes in the shadow of the shooting at a National Guard soldier by an Afghan citizen in Washington, and following US President Donald Trump's statement that "the US must re-examine every foreigner who entered the country from Afghanistan under the Biden administration."
