The Haifa Magistrate's Court extended until Thursday the detention of Ali Masawda, 28, from the village of Silwan in East Jerusalem, who is suspected of murdering his wife in Haifa last weekend. The judge ruled there is reasonable suspicion against him, along with concern for obstruction of the investigation and danger to the public. The suspect's defense attorney claimed he was the one who called rescue forces and tried to save his wife. According to him, she wounded him and caused herself a neck injury.
