The Neveh Midbar Water and Sewage Corporation announced that repairs to the electrical room set on fire by criminals at the Shoket sewage treatment facility may take several weeks. It was also reported that as a result of the fire, approximately 30,000 cubic meters of raw sewage will flow toward Hebron Stream and subsequently to Be'er Sheva Stream. Due to this, the Ministry of Environmental Protection recommends that the local authorities of al-Qasum, Omer, Bnei Shimon, Eshkol and Be'er Sheva notify residents that odor nuisances are possible, and that it is recommended to keep a distance from Hebron Stream until the problem is addressed and the flow of sewage into the stream is stopped.
