Kish on turning up music volume during bereaved mother's speech: 'I didn't know who was outside, speakers were working'

|
Education Minister Yoav Kish addressed the controversy he sparked after increasing the volume of music from speakers while a bereaved mother was speaking outside his home, during a conference of the Association of Education Directors in Local Authorities. He said, "The music was there before she arrived. I had no idea who was outside. I was inside the house and the speakers were working." According to him, "They asked my wife how it feels to sleep with a traitor. I didn't want my family to hear that poison, so I played uplifting and unifying songs. We have been facing violent demonstrations targeting my wife and children for more than a year. My children are afraid to leave the house. The police and prosecution are abandoning the ministers."
