Indictment against truck driver who collided with late David Sela on Highway 5: 'Veered to shoulder at 92 km/h'

|
The State Prosecutor's Office filed a serious indictment against Ashraf Ben Salman Yousef for causing the death of David Sela through negligent driving in an accident that occurred on March 26 this year on Highway 5 near the settlement of Bruchin. David is the brother of Michal Sela, who was murdered by her husband Eliran Malul in 2019. According to the indictment, Yousef, who was driving a truck, veered onto the right shoulder at a speed of 92 km/h and collided with David who had stopped to fix a flat tire on one of his car wheels. The indictment attributes to him failure to maintain his driving lane and veering to the right shoulder without reason, failure to notice the vehicle that was standing in the area despite good visibility, driving at high speed, and not driving professionally as a truck driver.
