After the opening was postponed due to the war with Iran, Netivei Ayalon company and the Ministry of Transportation announced that the fast lanes project along Ayalon Highway will open on Sunday. As part of the project, a dedicated lane will be activated along Highway 20, initially designated for shuttles and public transportation only, between HaShalom Interchange and Shafiim (approximately 18 km in each direction), alongside a new parking facility at Shafiim with about 7,000 spaces. Free electric shuttles will depart from the facility every five minutes during peak hours, connecting to major employment centers in Tel Aviv.
