A 29-year-old chef from Tel Aviv is suspected of assaulting his former partner, and the city's Magistrate's Court released him yesterday to house arrest. The police representative stated during the hearing that 'on Thursday morning, a report was received from a young woman who said her former partner came to her home, beat her and knocked her to the ground. The suspect has previous convictions not related to violence, and he served a prison sentence about two years ago.' His defense attorney, Tzafrir Yagor, said the suspect 'works in Tel Aviv restaurants and recently appeared on a television show.' According to him, 'she deceived him about being pregnant for three months, and two days earlier they had fought and separated.'
