Thirteen firefighting teams continue to battle the blaze at the waste site in Usifiya, tackling significant fire loads, flames and heavy smoke. Fire and Rescue Services reported that at this stage there is no danger to area residents, and that contingency plans have been prepared in case of deterioration and fire spread given the weather conditions expected today. The Nature and Parks Authority has prepared containment lines around the site and additional access routes for firefighting forces using engineering equipment.
