Defense Minister Israel Katz has exceptionally signed an administrative detention order against an Israeli suspected of being a central weapons smuggler using drones into the country's territory. The suspect, a resident of Bir Hadaj, was arrested in recent weeks. "The risk posed by his activities, combined with information indicating a significant increase in weapons smuggling across state borders lately, including exceptional weapons or those with significant potential to endanger state security," was reported. "Following his investigation by the Shin Bet, in the absence of a criminal alternative and given the danger his activities pose to state and public security, Minister Katz signed an unprecedented order for his administrative detention."
