A pre-indictment statement has been filed against a 19-year-old national service volunteer with Israel's Fire and Rescue Services from the village of Qalansawe, who was arrested about a month ago on suspicion of promoting terrorist activity and planning attacks. According to the investigation, the young man volunteered at one of the fire stations in central Israel and planned to carry out an attack at a strategic site he accessed as part of his duties. Suspicions also emerged that the young man contacted Hamas operatives and a figure identified with Iranian intelligence, attempted to establish a terror cell and recruit two acquaintances from Qalansawe to join it, and tried to manufacture explosive devices. During a raid on his home, airsoft equipment and training gear were seized.
