The United States has expressed support for a plan to integrate thousands of former jihadist rebels into the Syrian army, Reuters news agency reported, citing an envoy from the Trump administration. According to the plan, which Syria's new leadership seeks to implement, about 3,500 foreign jihadists - mainly from China and neighboring countries - would be integrated into a new unit, three Syrian defense officials told Reuters.
