A US State Department report has upgraded Israel to Tier 1 in the fight against human trafficking. This comes after five years in which Israel was ranked in Tier 2. The report surveys the activities of countries around the world in the field of combating human trafficking and ranks them according to their compliance with international standards. The report, referring to 2025, states that Israel had significant key achievements: the number of investigations in the field doubled and there was an increase in penalties imposed on offenders, establishment of organized procedures for recognizing trafficking victims, expansion of holistic care and rehabilitation services tailored to human trafficking victims and more.
