Mona Khalil, an environmental activist and pioneer in sea turtle conservation in Lebanon, died over the weekend from her injuries after being wounded in an Israeli strike near Tyre, Lebanese media outlets reported. A medical source in Lebanon told the French news agency that Khalil, who was 76 at the time of her death, was critically injured in a strike that hit her home on June 4. Her home had been converted into an ecological guesthouse in the coastal village of al-Mansouri.
