Michael Samos, one of the few survivors of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising who fought against Nazi soldiers, has died at the age of 99. Samos was born in 1926 and joined the Jewish underground in the ghetto, operating as part of a resistance group led by Mordechai Anielewicz. While working to repair helmets of Nazi soldiers returning from battle, Samos had access to thinning material that could also be used to make Molotov cocktails. He stole as much of it as he could and passed it on to the underground.
