Yosef Haim Ben David, the main defendant in the murder case of teenager Mohammed Abu Khdeir, died after being evacuated from prison to a hospital, where his death was pronounced. In July 2014, following the kidnapping and murder of three teens Naftali Frenkel, Gil-Ad Shaer and Eyal Yifrach, Ben David and two others abducted and murdered 16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdeir. One day earlier, they had attempted to kidnap a seven-year-old boy who was walking with his mother and two brothers on a street in Beit Hanina.
