In his first interview after winning Michigan's Senate race, Abdul Al-Sayyed expressed support for US President Donald Trump's plan to halt military aid to Israel and called for a stop to arms sales as well. Al-Sayyed told NPR: "I would also like us to stop selling Israel weapons that are being used to commit the most horrific acts, including genocide and apartheid." Al-Sayyed also criticized military aid to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Pakistan, arguing that American taxpayers' money should be invested in the United States.
