Mossad Chief Roman Gofman and Colonel (Res.) Gal Hirsch, coordinator for captives and missing persons, arrived at the funeral of Yehuda Katz, the last missing soldier from the Sultan Yacoub battle who was returned after 44 years. Yehuda's brother eulogized him: "We asked if we are required to sit shiva after 44 years. The rabbi asked us how we felt when they notified us of the identification. We said we felt deep pain and sorrow. The rabbi said we must sit shiva, because until now we had not given up hope of finding him alive. As far as we're concerned, Yehuda was killed this week and not 44 years ago."
