Israeli architect Israel Goodovitch dies at 92: 'Architecture was his life's mission'

|
Architect Israel Meir Goodovitch passed away yesterday at the age of 92. Goodovitch served as Tel Aviv city engineer from 1999 to 2000 and worked on a series of public projects. His son, architect Dekel Goodovitch, wrote: "My father passed away. Architect Israel Goodovitch returned his soul to his Creator on Shavuot, Friday, May 22. I write words and they are a drop in the ocean of tears. My father, before he was a father, was first and foremost an architect. This is true not only chronologically. It was not a workplace or a profession, it was his life's mission. His architecture was sacred work for the benefit of society as a whole, with the goal of building for it a better place, a more special place, one that went beyond the drawing paper beyond all boundaries."
