A report by the Public Defender's Office in Israel revealed that the conditions of Palestinian security prisoners have deteriorated since October 7, 2023. The report found that prisoners live in overcrowded conditions, hunger and are beaten almost daily. The Public Defender's Office, part of the Ministry of Justice, thus provides recognition of the conditions of security prisoners. The report examined the years 2023-2024 and was based on visits by a team of defenders to dozens of prisons. The report states that "the conditions of the prisoners reflect one of the most severe incarceration crises."
