U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces disabled an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman that violated the ongoing blockade in an attempt to transport oil from Iran. "We disabled the M/T Settebello, flying the flag of Palau, as it crossed the Gulf of Oman," the statement said. "A U.S. aircraft fired precision munitions at the ship's engine room after its crew repeatedly failed to comply with instructions issued by American forces." CENTCOM noted that since the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz began, eight vessels that did not comply with instructions have been disabled, 134 vessels that responded to directives were diverted from their course, and 42 vessels carrying humanitarian aid were allowed to continue on their way.
