Cabinet meets again, negotiations to advance Netanyahu's White House visit: 'Critical days for deal'

|
The security cabinet convened once again, for the second consecutive day. After yesterday's meeting at Southern Command ended without a decision, the political leadership still hopes for developments in negotiations for a hostage deal, but the IDF is simultaneously preparing to deepen ground operations and expand military action in the Gaza Strip if necessary. Under American pressure and Washington's push toward a deal that could also end the war after almost 21 months, Israel is considering moving up Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the White House, where he will meet with US President Donald Trump for the third time since he was re-elected in January. Israeli officials clarify that "nothing is finalized yet," but it appears Netanyahu will arrive in Washington this coming Sunday and meet with Trump on Monday.
