President Isaac Herzog spoke with Alon and Cherut Nimrodi, the parents of hostage Tamir Nimrodi who was returned deceased from the Gaza Strip, and told them: "The entire nation held its breath. When the announcement came out, we couldn't believe it. Tamir became a son of all Israel, we didn't know what had happened to him. And you fought with tremendous courage all over the world. We are proud of you. I want to comfort you from the bottom of my heart, embrace you and come see you during the shiva. You are always in our hearts."
