El Al airline has called to open Ramon Airport as a complementary alternative to Ben Gurion Airport, aiming to "preserve aviation activity and provide a solution for the traveling public." The demand from the Israeli airline came following the Transportation Ministry's decision to limit the number of passengers departing from Ben Gurion Airport to 50 passengers per flight. The company also stated that it is examining "all the implications of the new framework and will update during the day regarding the manner of its operations."
