Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump, the Prime Minister's Office announced, noting that Netanyahu had previously met with U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Whitcoff and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Hackaby. "The Prime Minister thanked President Trump for his assistance in releasing IDF soldier Idan Alexander," the statement said. "The President reaffirmed his commitment to Israel and his desire to continue close cooperation with Netanyahu. Additionally, the Prime Minister directed a negotiating delegation to depart for Doha tomorrow, and clarified that negotiations will only take place under fire."
