Police reported that an officer was moderately injured during a chase in Netanya after a driver who refused to stop for a police inspection collided with a patrol car. The driver was arrested. According to police, the incident occurred during a targeted enforcement operation against life-threatening traffic violations, when officers noticed a vehicle that aroused their suspicion and ordered the driver to stop for inspection. The driver did not comply, continued driving and collided with the patrol car. The officer was moderately injured and the driver was lightly injured. Both were evacuated to receive medical treatment at Laniado Medical Center in the city. The driver will be brought in for questioning, and the circumstances are being investigated.
