Eyal Eshel at Habima protest: 'What the hell else needs to happen for them to listen to the lookouts?'

|
About 500 protesters participated in a demonstration against the government at Habima Square in Tel Aviv. Eyal Eshel, father of lookout Roni Eshel who fell at the Nahal Oz outpost on October 7, spoke at the rally. He said: "Tonight I'm asking you one simple question, what the hell else needs to happen for someone in this country to start listening to the lookouts? Again we hear them. Again they are warning. Again they are pointing out what is happening before their eyes on the Gaza border. And again we hear the same thing, dismissiveness, disregard, belittlement. I know this story, I know it well. Roni and her friends experienced it firsthand, until it was seared into their flesh. They warned, the systems failed."
