Haifa court extends remand of man suspected of killing wife: 'Danger to public'

|
The Haifa Magistrate's Court extended until October 7 the detention of Ali Masawada, 28, from the village of Silwan, who is suspected of murdering his wife Yanina (Yonit) Rusinova, 31, last Friday in Haifa. Yanina left behind a two-month-old baby. The court ruled there is concern for obstruction of the investigation and danger to the public, and that new evidence significantly strengthens the suspicion against him. His defense attorney argued that Masawada was the one who called the rescue forces and that he denies the allegations against him.
