A European Union foreign policy spokesperson stated that "the Union strongly condemns the recent attacks by violent settlers in the West Bank, including attacks against European diplomats." He added: "We view positively the statements by several Israeli officials who condemned the attacks, but we expect full prosecution and effective measures to prevent continued violence and violent harassment against Palestinians – including during the current olive harvest season – as well as against journalists."
