Attorney General to High Court: Cancel law freezing arrest proceedings for ultra-Orthodox draft dodgers

|
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara submitted the state's position on petitions regarding the freezing of arrest proceedings for ultra-Orthodox draft dodgers from the IDF. The attorney general described the temporary order as 'selective' and stated that it is 'an extreme and clear-cut case of a flawed and harmful legislative arrangement that does not meet any of the tests of the limitation clause.' According to her, the order should be canceled and therefore the conditional order that was issued should be made absolute. In her position, she noted that 'the security service imposed on the regular army and on tens of thousands of reservists has become unbearable.' Moreover, she said that 'the situation endangers the resilience of those serving and their families.'
