Ashdod refinery disaster: Suspicion that tanks connected to suits did not contain medical air

|
The Safety Administration at the Ministry of Labor has begun notifying suppliers of the company 'Salem Yaakov and Sons,' which supplies medical air tanks — including those used at the Ashdod refinery — to immediately stop using them, after several additional tanks supplied by the company were found that were supposed to contain medical air but the gas found in them was different. Officials at the Safety Administration told Ynet that 'the possibility is being examined that there was a toxic substance there,' and that Nitzan Goykhman and Irena Radchuk 'died immediately' at the Ashdod refinery, and that this is a 'very rare' incident. According to them, 'they were connected to the same battery of tanks.' Gas suppliers stated: 'The disaster is not the fault of the distributors and is not due to their negligence.'
