A holiday meal planned for several hundred Israelis at the Chabad House in Phuket, Thailand was canceled this evening, following a demand by Israeli security officials not to hold the event at the location. This came after a pro-Palestinian demonstration took place in the area for several hours, during which chants including 'Free Palestine' were heard. In a message sent to Israeli travelers who registered for the event, it was noted that the cancellation was made due to security considerations and that the demonstrators could be violent. 'Dear guests! Due to a demand by Israeli security officials, to our great regret we are canceling the event,' the message stated. 'Please do not approach the area, the demonstrators can be violent and it is dangerous.'
