Israel's Chief Rabbis, Rabbi David Yosef and Rabbi Kalman Bar, determined in a halachic opinion that the construction area of "Aura" company in Yehud — where ultra-Orthodox extremists have demonstrated in recent weeks — is located on ancient Jewish graves. They claimed that building in this area is "desecration of the dead" and called for the work to be stopped. The rabbis also criticized "Aura": "While attempting to present us with a false representation, they destroyed the cemetery, and human bones were scattered like dung on the ground."
