The Hamas Interior Ministry in Gaza has informed Yasser Abu Shabab, leader of an armed militia, that he must surrender himself within ten days due to "treason, espionage for foreign entities, establishing an armed cell and armed rebellion." Hamas stated that "if he does not comply with the demand, he will be considered a fugitive from justice and will be tried in absentia." In response, Abu Shabab's group told ynet that "all Hamas members should be put on trial for the same charges – for connections with Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood movement, as these are hostile entities to our people and their supreme national interests."
