The driver of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Moshe Yehuda Leib Eichenstein, pleaded guilty and was convicted as part of a plea deal for careless driving - instead of reckless driving, which is considered a more serious offense. Eichenstein ran a red light in April while driving the minister to a terror attack scene in Ramla and collided head-on with another vehicle, slightly injuring its driver. The plea deal stipulated that his license would be suspended for three months with an additional two months probation, and that he would compensate the injured driver with 1,500 shekels.
