At least two Thai civilians were killed by fire from Cambodia during clashes that erupted at the border between the two countries, Reuters news agency reported citing an official source in a Thai province. The source noted that two additional civilians were injured. The official also reported that 40,000 civilians were evacuated from 86 villages in Thailand for their safety due to tensions in the area. Meanwhile, a Thai military official told Reuters that the army is preparing six F-16 fighter jets for deployment along the border.
