Opposition leader Yair Lapid responded to the rejection of Hamas's statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other ministers. Lapid said that "Israel's government doesn't have to accept Hamas's terms, but it must return to negotiations immediately and try to close a deal. We cannot not even try to bring our hostages home."
