The Foreign Ministry appointments committee has decided to appoint Ambassador Yossi Amrani as head of the ministry's diplomatic division. Amrani has been serving as acting head since the retirement of previous division head Aliza Bin-Noun from civil service at the end of February. The position is second in importance at the ministry after the director-general and effectively coordinates all diplomatic activities of the Foreign Ministry and Israeli embassies worldwide.
