Suspected arsonist of Rishon Lezion kindergarten - journalist Roi Persul, detention extended

|
The Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court extended by five days the detention of journalist Roi Persul (46), who is suspected of setting fire to a kindergarten in Rishon Lezion. He was arrested earlier this week following security camera footage, after the kindergarten owner claimed she recognized the suspect. A financial dispute erupted between them over his demand for a refund for days his son did not attend the kindergarten during the war against Iran. This year his son is not enrolled in the kindergarten. His attorney Yaron Forer argued that he cannot be identified in the video, and the suspect claimed he was at home. Judge Guy Maimon determined that "the suspect's alibi version is unfounded, and its credibility is questionable."
