The IDF has officially begun sending thousands of initial draft notices to yeshiva students, whose status as yeshiva students is no longer valid due to the expiration of the law. 54,000 notices are expected to be sent in several waves during July. A senior official in the IDF Personnel Directorate said, "There is no person who is required to enlist and will not have a notice in hand. This is happening now - for the entire population, including those aged 16 and above."
