The Israel Prison Service announced that a 68-year-old criminal prisoner from the northern region, who was serving his sentence at Rimonim-Ofek Prison, died at the hospital while his medical condition was protected under privacy laws. As with every inmate death, an investigative team has been appointed. The deceased prisoner is Atef Sabihi, who was convicted of kidnapping and murdering child Danny Katz in 1987 and kidnapping, murdering and raping soldier Dafna Carmon in 1987.
