Smotrich led decision to transfer $50 million to Gaza aid fund

|
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich led a cabinet decision to transfer $50 million to the Gaza aid fund - as part of increasing humanitarian aid to residents of the Strip. This was reported to ynet. A cabinet source explained that this is a bridge loan for the American aid fund, and since the fund's budget has been depleted - Israel decided to transfer tens of millions of dollars to the fund. The vote passed in the cabinet with an absolute majority, with only National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir opposing. In the past, Minister Smotrich promised that "not even a grain of wheat would enter in a way that would reach Hamas" and also opposed the introduction of humanitarian aid.
