Government unanimously approves: Israel withdraws from Open Government Partnership

|
The government unanimously approved the proposal by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat for Israel to withdraw from the Open Government Partnership (OGP). The body was established in 2011 by former US President Barack Obama to implement open government principles in government activities, and Israel joined in 2012. The government justified the withdrawal by stating that the body has turned into a "political tool for attacking Israel".
