Maj. Gen. (res.) Poli Mordechai suspended for two weeks from hostage command due to 'Qatar-gate' investigation

|
Police suspended Maj. Gen. (ret.) Yoav (Poli) Mordechai for 14 days from his role in the hostage command headed by Maj. Gen. Nitzan Alon - following his investigation on suspicion of bribery in the Qatargate affair. The decision was made after an additional investigation conducted on Thursday. Earlier this month, Calcalist revealed that Mordechai was responsible for brokering weapons and cyber deals for the Israeli defense industry with Qatar on a large scale, collecting millions of shekels in brokerage fees for these transactions.
