The Supreme Court will hear arguments on May 25 regarding the recognition of IDF soldiers who took their own lives as fallen soldiers. The Jerusalem Institute for Justice will represent the bereaved families in the hearing against the state. Avi and Ula Pinkinsky, parents of the late Gil Pinkinsky, a Shayetet 13 commando who died by suicide in November 2024, stated: "There are fighters who return from battle but the war does not leave them. Gil should not be a 'different kind' of fallen soldier just because his wound was invisible."
