Ayelet Shaked on Her Decision: 'I Believe in a Broad Government — Seems It's Not Possible'

|
Ayelet Shaked published a post explaining her decision not to run in the elections: "I had hoped that after October 7, the political reality in Israel would change. Unfortunately, it appears that even in the upcoming elections, the political system is converging into the same patterns of divisive camps and boycotts, two blocs that in my view are tearing the country apart. As a mother of a son who is an officer and a daughter who is enlisting for meaningful service, it saddens me to think about what will happen here if we find ourselves in successive rounds of election cycles. I think and believe that a broad government crossing party blocs is essential for dealing with the security, political and economic challenges before us, but it seems that such a government is not possible in the current electoral system."
