The Defense Ministry has issued multi-year orders for the purchase of aerial munitions from Elbit Systems totaling over 600 million shekels (approximately $170 million). The Defense Ministry announced this, explaining that the purchase is "part of improving readiness for immediate combat scenarios and preparation for an intense security decade." Defense Minister Israel Katz said of the deal: "We continue to strengthen Israel's armament independence. The IDF must have the means at all times to operate with force, speed and without dependence on external parties."
