Former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant responded to recordings of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitting he dismissed Gallant to promote a draft exemption law, writing on his X account: "I am proud that I stood by the principle that everyone should take part in the mission of defending the country." According to him, "To maintain the State of Israel, we need a strong and determined army. The need to recruit every young person of draft age to the IDF is vital for Israel's security - everyone must serve: secular, religious and ultra-Orthodox, everyone."
