During the past day, three IDF battalions along with additional Border Police and Police forces conducted a large-scale counter-terrorism operation in Qalqilya. According to the IDF spokesperson, who added that during the operation hundreds of targets were searched and weapons were confiscated, including an M16 rifle, a barrel and dozens of bullets. In addition, the forces arrested arms dealers, terrorists and suspects involved in preparing explosive devices. It was further reported that "during the activity, IDF forces opened fire and neutralized a terrorist who posed a risk to the force and threw a suspicious object at them." The detained suspects were transferred for further investigation by the police and Shin Bet.
