The Health Ministry announced the halting of use of one batch of Similac intended for hospitals. "This follows a specific complaint received last night about the product, and it was decided as a precautionary measure to halt use of the relevant batch (89203N201)," it was stated. It was emphasized that the batch is intended only for hospitals and is not sold retail. "At this stage, this involves a single complaint with no reports of any medical condition. Abbott is working to supply an alternative batch to the hospitals. The directive applies to this batch only and there are no restrictions on other batches of Similac," it was noted.
