The Foreign Policy Forum, consisting of 18 former ambassadors, issued an official statement addressing what it defined as "Israel's unprecedented diplomatic collapse." "The colossal failure of Israel's government cannot be beautified with spin. This is no longer stagnation but a diplomatic collapse accompanied by a war without purpose and without end," the statement read. "To halt the collapse and restore Israel's standing, the government must recalculate its course, end the war, return the hostages and initiate a regional diplomatic process that will lead to the end of Hamas control in Gaza."
